Campaign Manager - Campaign Manager (Silverlight)
Grid Segmentation Campaigns And SamplingSampling can be applied to any filter or cell row of a campaign. The options for sampling are:
When using Sampling, it is important to note that a "sample from parent" method is used, meaning that the sample occurs on the records passed from the parent Filter or Cell, prior to N per X, and records not sampled are passed on. Filter samples pass to the next Filter and Cell samples pass to the next Filer or Cell. When using percentage sampling in grid campaigns an unknown quantity can be proportionally split to ensure records are processed.
For example:
In the above example, row 4 has asked the filter row to contain a sample of 1000 records out of the total available records of 250,436. The filter row is the parent for the child level cell rows, meaning that:
Using N per X in a sample
In the above example, we have asked the filter row to contain a sample of 1000 records out of the total available records of 259,874. The filter row is the parent for the child level cell rows, meaning that:
On N per X, select One per Household ID from the Household or Customer table: depending on requirement - See N per X & grid seg campaigns.htm Understanding complex samplingSampling can be applied to filter rows. When using percentage this will again use 'Sample From Parent'. For example:
In the above example, we have asked the filter row 4 to contain a sample of 50% records out of the total available records of 259,874. The filter row is the parent for the child level cell rows, meaning that:
Rounding countsFor example, if both rows 5 and 6 have been asked to sample 50% of 353 records:
Row 6 takes 177 as both rows have been asked to sample 50% each of the 353 records. Over samplingIf you request a higher percentage of the total counts than 100% your row will return zeros, as seen below:
